Time to Fight Back, Furry Brethren!posted Jan 17th 2005, 11:53AM
Mood: About to EXPLODE!
Well, in light of the recent events befalling SA, I came across my big furry brother's journal which states as follows:
Last month I posted a drawing of Tydog and myself in some pretty naughty circumstances *grins* I did that drawing as a labour of love because Tydog's one of the most wonderful people I have ever met online and he deserved his first yiffin' drawin' to be nothing short of wonderful. And many of you seemed to think it was a god drawing because I had close to 20 favourites on that one- something which never happened to me, not even on something which approaches the more accpeted definition of "art" because wherever I go it seems yiff can never be "art". When I came to SA I thought, finally, a place that welcomes me and my brethren without discrimination! Silly, naive bear that I was...
Well, time to take action. If not to bring back SA to the way it was, then at least to go with a certain dignity because when people you had faith in stab you behind your back like SA did, that's all you can do: leave with your dignity. This morning I found an email from Tydog which if possible, made me love him even more. Here it is:
Well, I'm kinda getting confused about these art groups. First I joined DA but then realized that I had to pay them 30$ if I wanted to have any real fun. Then I joined Sheezy so I could really have fun with all my new friends. Now it looks like I have to find a new home all together unless I want to put my pants back on and behave. Crap. I think my solution is to stay here, do what I do, and let them ban me. Same with DA. Spencer and Cat, who aren't even old enough to legally look at our art, will have their hands full trying to police all of us into compliance. Anyway, I was hoping you might want to join me on an art project.
I would like to make a group art piece from everyone who wants to join, showing all us furry strays, leaving the big cooperation conglamorate of Sheezy (Big square building with bellowing smokestacks and a prison style wall), with all our belongings tied to a stick like the homeless do (some pushing shopping carts with our computers and tablets in them). Heading down the road toward the sunset. If you leave lots of room toward the sunset, other furry artists could add their characters (as we will encourage them to do so) until it becomes a huge furry exodus. If too many join our parade, we can just expand the right border to accomodate them. I'm sure some funny stuff will happen. I imagine one of them taking a piss on the wall while others have cheep beers and a fire in a barrel. Or maybe a few drunk furries. Typical homeless humor. We can just re-post it every time someone adds their character. Since it is not a sexual art piece in nature, Sheezy can't ban it ever if we do grab our balls or drag our cocks. I know after reading everyone's journals, that there would be lots of participation and besides, when was the last time you saw a public group art effort on any of these sites? It would definitely ruffle the Sheezy Monarchy as well which is needed as they are only doing this for their own financial gains. Also their new policy seems to unfairly target the furs especially (boobs good, yiff bad). Anyway, let me know if you're interested. It will undoubtly become the largest viewed piece in Sheezy history making us overnite mega-stars heheh. I think you should draw the background elements. I'll get characters from everyone and add them in layer form ,like a collage. Then we start passing it around for others to add too, always keeping the last draft in case someone fucks it up. Anyway, let me know
I think Ty has the right idea: Once more, it's the furry community that gets the short end of the stick so it's really high time to do something about it. Like I said, we can't right the wrongs but we can at least feel good about ourselves in the end. Many of my freinds are talking about new sites. One of them, furpawz, seems to be pretty good so I'm hoping that in time the furry community that started to establish itself here will find a new home. Through SA I made a lot of friends, and I don't want to lose any of them- please, let's all stay togetehr for now until we can find oursleves a new place to call 'home'!
-End of Journal-
